With the launch of our brand new website, we're also excited to announce this new concept and feature -- the Pete and Orville PreList Listing™. Much of the time, farmers know the general timeframe that they plan to sell or trade farm equipment. Yet it's common to wait until that time nears to negotiate a trade-in value or list the item in newspaper classifieds. The PreList Listing allows Pete and Orville sellers to alert potential buyers ahead of time of their intention to sell used farm equipment. This is accomplished by entering in all the details of the equipment and picking a future date (between 3 and 12 months in the future) when they plan to sell. Our vision is for this to become so common among farmers that they immediately PreList their equipment each time they are considering sale or trade within the next 12 months. With Pete and Orville members continuously receiving text and email updates matching their search, it creates a very efficient way for buyers AND sellers to get what they want. It's a win-win. Individuals listing equipment under the PreList Listing may not have made up their mind 100% to sell the item. They may use the listing simply to "test the water" -- gauging buyer interest. Or their financial situation may change, affecting their decision to take action. We encourage you to use common sense when using this list. If interested in an item, speak with the seller to get a feel for how serious they are about moving it. And please keep in mind that financials may end up deciding if any action will be taken. |
